Name: Cllr Geoffrey Whitby
Bio: Geoff has lived all his life in Hindhead. He works as an audiologist in Surrey and is an active fundraiser for charities, such as the British Legion. He was previously a Town Councillor for Hindhead and is eager to be involved in local government again. His priorities for Waverley Council would include putting pressure on the County Council to improve road repairs and surfaces, especially in rural areas and looking at a sustainable housing policy to stop excessive densities in a predominantly semi-rural area. As part of this, he would want to encourage developers to use current sites with planning permission. He also wants the Council to look at ways to improve social support in the face of Conservative government cuts. His special personal interests are cycling, the countryside and elderly health and disability issues.
