We will invest properly in school places local to residents and re-furbish existing school buildings to bring them up to required standards.
We will ensure families don’t have to fight for their entitlements. We will support children with special needs and their families by investing in Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) provision closer to home.
Julian Spence, Lib Dem candidate for Waverley Western Villages, said:
"I'm appalled that the Conservatives running Surrey County Council have proposed cutting school funding for pupils with special educational needs (SEN) by £1 million.
"The funding for SEN pupils is a tiny amount compared with the Council's overall spending, but this cut could have a huge impact on so many local children.
"At this challenging time we should be investing in our children's education, not cutting funding. These cuts would harm the learning of all pupils, but especially vulnerable children, and hamper the ability of teachers to bring out the best in the next generation."
