Bio: Liz moved to Cranleigh from nearby Guildford with her family in 1992 and threw herself into volunteering, initially as chair of the PTA and then of Cranleigh Rugby Club. She was honoured to be elected as Vice President of both Cranleigh Rugby Club and Surrey Rugby.

In response to the deluge of development on green fields she founded Cranleigh Civic Society in 2014, a members’ organisation, working to bring about positive civic and environmental changes. She went on to be elected to the Parish Council in 2015 and has served as its Chairman since 2018.

In 2016 she became a Waverley Borough Councillor for Cranleigh West Ward and joined the executive team in 2020 as portfolio holder for Economic Development, Greenspaces and Leisure.

She was the lead in establishing the first Cranleigh Youth Council and the successful Friday Night Youth Project. She is a member of Friends of the Earth and a supporter of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) – Doctors without borders.
