Christmas Comes Early For Visitors To Farnham
Liberal Democrat led Waverley Borough Council, in partnership with Surrey County Council and Farnham Town Council, is introducing a special Christmas parking offer to support Farnham businesses during the festive season.
From 9 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, shoppers and diners can park for just £1 from 1:00pm to 8:00am in all Waverley Borough Council car parks in Farnham from Monday to Thursday each week.
While the ongoing Town Centre Improvement Works will deliver long-term benefits - such as improved traffic flow, healthier air quality, and a better shopping experience - they have impacted footfall and trade in the historic market town over the past few months.
Cllr Tony Fairclough, Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Enforcement and Regulatory Services who developed the offer said:
"Christmas and New Year is a vital time for our high streets, and this short-term initiative will help boost footfall and trade for Farnham retailers and hospitality outlets from 1:00pm, Monday to Thursday, while the Town Centre Improvement Works are paused”.
“The cost of the initiative - just under £40,000 - will be shared equally between Waverley Borough Council, Surrey County Council, and Farnham Town Council and demonstrates a collective commitment to support local businesses and show that Farnham is open for business and ready to welcome visitors”.
