Defence in Uncertain Times: A review of what we learnt

Last month’s Defence in Uncertain Times event in Liphook, hosted by Theresa Meredith-Hardy, drew a full house for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on the challenges facing the UK and Europe in today’s complex security landscape.

We were delighted to hear from Brigadier Gerhard Wheeler, who shared his insights on modern threats, NATO’s role, and the need for resilience and innovation in defence. The evening sparked lively discussion and highlighted how global uncertainty affects us all, even here in Waverley.

The Haslemere Herald has published an excellent write-up of the event, capturing Brigadier Wheeler’s key messages and the importance of preparing for “grey zone” challenges in an age of shifting alliances.
