Farnham Community Rallies to Spruce Up Cemetery Ahead of Bloom Judging
On Saturday 10 May 2025, local residents, volunteers, and members of the Waverley Liberal Democrats came together for a community clean-up at one of Farnham’s cemeteries, preparing the grounds for the forthcoming South and South East in Bloom judging.
The event included planting fresh flowers in planters and tubs, removing debris such as sticks and branches, cleaning public noticeboards, and carrying out a general litter pick. All tools and materials were provided, and the event welcomed anyone who wanted to take part.
Farnham Town Councillor Mat Brown was among those in attendance, joining fellow Liberal Democrats in supporting this hands-on effort to make a visible difference to the community. “It’s inspiring to see so many people come together with such pride in their local area, it was also lovely to see so many children getting involved” said Cllr Brown. “This is exactly the kind of grassroots action that builds stronger, cleaner, greener communities.”
The initiative reflects the Liberal Democrats’ ongoing commitment to local environmental stewardship and civic engagement. With the judging panel from South and South East in Bloom set to visit soon, the cemetery now stands as a proud testament to what local cooperation can achieve. Fingers crossed for the judging...
