Have Your Say on the Future of Weydon Lane (Brambleton Park)
A ten-acre site on Weydon Lane—known locally as Brambleton Park—has been identified by Waverley Borough Council for potential redevelopment. Once a landfill, the site is now at the centre of a new vision to deliver more green space or other community uses in Farnham.
A recent BBC News article has brought attention to the council’s early-stage plans, which include the possibility of a new public green space or ecological restoration. The future of this space is now being shaped, and your views are urgently needed.
🌱 What’s at Stake?
The site was gifted to Farnham in the 1970s, but has never been made fully accessible to the public. It has naturally rewilded but remains without basic infrastructure, such as footpaths or seating. Waverley Borough Council wants to explore options that balance community benefit, environmental sensitivity, and land remediation.
🔶 Our Liberal Democrat Position
We believe any decision on this land must:
- Be driven by local residents and not just council planners.
- Focus on delivering accessible, green public space—not just buildings.
- Respect the site’s ecological value while exploring creative community uses.
The Waverley Liberal Democrats want to ensure public voices lead the process, and we’re encouraging everyone in Farnham to participate in the current consultation.
