Local Lib Dems Enjoy Summer Garden Party in Grayswood

WLD
Haslemere Garden Party

If you were a registered Lib Dem supporter this month, then you were lucky enough to be invited to share Isabelle’s organic wild garden in Grayswood. Inspired by the Jungle Book and the Secret Garden, there are hidden paths with statues and found objects, yellow roses cascading into purple periwinkles, and on this particular day, glorious sunshine and some excellent cakes!

Beyond the garden is a hill, with its own trig point and the site of a WWII look out for the Home Guard. Isabelle says people ask if this hill, with its neatly rounded shape, was man-made, but it wasn’t.  A visiting geologist had told her it’s absolutely natural: “the last gasp of the Alps”!

By 6pm, Isabelle’s faithful dog Boosh had understandably had enough and was waiting for us all to go home for our dinners, so he could have his.  We’re very grateful to Isabelle, and Cllrs Jacquie, John and Terry for a lovely lazy afternoon.
