Waverley Lib Dems: Community Comes Together to Clean Up Farnham
More than 30 volunteers from across Farnham joined a town-wide litter pick, helping to collect around 26 bags of rubbish ahead of Remembrance Sunday. The effort focused on key public areas—including the parade route, Hickley’s Corner, Dogflud Way, the skate park, and the alleyways into the town centre.
Liberal Democrat councillor Mat Brown, Farnham Town Council’s Lead Member for Environment, praised the turnout:
“It was fantastic to see so many people come together to take pride in our town. Everyone rolled up their sleeves, worked hard, and helped make sure the town looked its best for Remembrance Sunday. We’re incredibly grateful to all who took part.”
Following the clean-up, volunteers were treated to well-earned tea and cake—a fitting end to a morning of community spirit.
This is exactly the kind of grassroots civic pride that the Waverley Liberal Democrats champion. It’s more than just picking up litter—it’s about building community, taking responsibility for our shared spaces, and showing what can be achieved when local people lead the way.
