Paul Follows

The local champion our area deserves

  • Lives in Godalming and spent most of his life in the area
  • Campaigning for our NHS and to cut the cost of living
  • A proven record of delivery for our area

Everybody is backing a resident with a proven track record - local campaigner Paul Follows - to be our new MP.

Paul has been a tireless campaigner for our area. He's worked with community groups to deliver change, prevent cuts to key services and put pressure on this failing Conservative government.

As an experienced council leader, Paul already has a proud record of delivering for our area  – demonstrating financial prudence, protecting the most vulnerable during the pandemic and cost of living crisis, and taking positive action on the climate emergency.

He's got the skills, values and experience to be a first-class MP for Godalming & Ash.

We need more MPs like Paul - people who share our values and deliver real change.

When talking to residents, it's clear local people have had enough of being taken for granted and failed by the Conservatives. People feel ignored by a party that no longer shares their values, and MPs whose actions don't match their words.

Paul is already working hard on issues, from fighting fossil-fuel drilling in the Surrey hills to investing in our high streets.

New social housing is being built under Paul's watch to high standards - sustainable, zero-carbon and rented at affordable rates. He's campaigning for better funding for local government and reformed council tax bands to pay for essential local services.

As your MP, Paul will fight to cut waiting times for GPs and dentists, fight to help families struggling with the cost of living and fight to protect our beautiful area from sewage dumping and fossil fuel drilling.

Paul said: "Our local MPs are increasingly out of touch with our towns and villages, voting against action on sewage, fossil-fuel drilling and rolling back on environmental protections.

"Any values they shared with residents a decade ago have withered away, as a succession of desperate Governments and ministers have tried to keep a grip on power.

"The NHS is in crisis and the cost of living continues to spiral under this Conservative Government, with a local Chancellor at the centre of it all."

It's time that this new constituency of Godalming & Ash got a fairer deal and a new MP whose actions match their words.

Time is running out for this failing Conservative Government and it's only the Liberal Democrats locally who can challenge them here.

Labour and Green voters know that with a record of beating the Conservatives in local elections, a vote for the Liberal Democrats and Paul Follows will be a vote for a progressive MP.
