Canvassing, Community and Conversions in Frensham

This weekend the local Lib Dems headed to Frensham, with a day full of local engagement, grassroots action, and summer celebration.
We kicked things off with a morning of (rather hot) door-to-door canvassing, where volunteers spoke with residents about the issues that matter most — from speeding and road safety to immigration and health. As always, we’re grateful to everyone who took the time to speak with us and share their views.
After a well-earned lunch, we paid a visit to the much-loved Frensham Fayre — a fantastic community event filled with local stalls, entertainment, and friendly faces. It was a great opportunity to connect with local organisations doing important work.
We particularly enjoyed speaking with the Wey River Trust, who updated us on exciting new plans to test and monitor water quality locally — a crucial step in protecting both our environment and public health.
We also had the chance to catch up with Frensham Parish Council, who shared welcome news about plans for an upgraded children’s playground — a much-needed improvement for families in the area.
Days like this are a powerful reminder of why local campaigning matters. Events like the Frensham Fayre showcase the energy, spirit, and initiative that make Waverley such a wonderful place to live — and they strengthen our commitment to championing the issues that matter most to our communities.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat — it was incredibly encouraging to meet so many Liberal Democrat supporters and voters. We’ll be out again soon.
