Sally Shorthose for Farnham South
Having lived in the Farnham area, with my husband Mike and grown-up sons Matthew and Ollie, for more than 35 years, I am delighted to be standing as the Lib Dem candidate for Farnham South at the unitary elections in May.
Throughout this time, I have been deeply involved in community life – serving on school PTAs, chairing our sons’ sports clubs in Haslemere (and making innumerable bacon and sausage sandwiches, and vats of chilli!). I have been a parish councillor on Churt Parish Council for five years and currently serve as its chair.
I am passionate about music, singing with a number of choirs including the Chamber Choir at St Thomas on the Bourne. As a Trustee of Grayshott Concerts and Tilford Bach Festival, I seek to share my love of music with members of the local community, including children and residents of care homes.
I have worked as a solicitor for nearly 40 years. My experience as a senior intellectual property partner at an international law firm could, I hope, guide the formation of the new West Surrey Unitary Authority, where scrutiny and good governance is crucial from the start.y.
